Reason #472 – The Aces Game

Have you ever dreamed of the perfect job?   This includes a great group of people to work with, the environment in which you work, and the material you work on.  Well I have dreamed it and now I am living the dream.  I recently graduated from University of Nevada, Reno, with a degree in Computer Science and a minor in Interactive Game Design. While I was unsure of what the future held after graduation, I began the process of applying to various agencies and companies and waited for replies. I was fortunate to get a job interview and a job offer from Apex Performance Solutions just days before graduation. During the initial aspect of submitting resumes and scheduling interviews in my job search, the one entity that stood out was APEX. I knew they were the company for whom I wanted to work. Following my interview with APEX, I was hired and began work immediately following graduation. Though it has only been a month and a half since I started my “dream job”, the dream just keeps getting better.  Every time something good happens, I increase the number of the reasons of “Why I like working at APEX”.

Therefore, Reason #472 in my “why I like working at APEX”, has to do with a recent morale event for APEX employees that began with a wonderful lunch at Duffys in the Freight House District, followed by an Aces Baseball Game. (I could have probably added at least 20 more reasons during the lunch and the game, but kept the event to one collective reason.) The ballgame and the lunch were wonderful events that facilitated an abundance of camaraderie.

I find the individuals who work at Apex very easy to get along with in addition to being incredibly supportive of one another. As a result, it’s easy to have a good time in such an environment.  At the ballgame we had great seats right down the third base line. Given the fact that it was a warm day in Reno, moving to the shaded seats stopped the sunburns before they became unbearable. The Aces lost under an avalanche of runs scored however this did not deter our group from having a wonderful time.

I look forward to continuing to add to my list of reasons as to why I like, scratch that, LOVE working at APEX but for now, I really need to get back to work.

Until next time…
