About Us
Apex – Past, Present, and Future
Apex Performance Solutions was founded in 2001, and is headquartered in Reno, Nevada. Apex offers management consulting services in the areas of Strategic Consulting, Project Management, Training & Readiness, Contingent Staffing, and Software Quality Assurance.
Our service offerings all share at their core an ongoing commitment to delivering value at a competitive cost. This is achieved by delivering projects on time, on budget and in alignment with your organization’s strategic direction and objectives.
In November 2001, Apex started on a shoestring budget with one employee – its founder and CEO, Kurt Frohlich. The tragedy of 9/11 was still an open wound, the country was in mourning, and the economy was yet to recover from that event. In hindsight, this was probably not the best environment in which to start a new IT consulting firm. Kurt’s philosophy was and still is that in good economies or bad, industry-leading and visionary companies will continue to move forward and implement their strategic business objectives. Apex will be here to fill their needs, as experienced and proven consultative partners will always be needed if their services are in demand, competitively priced, provide maximum value, and most importantly generate predictable and measurable results.
Kurt’s early consulting work centered on private and public sector custom enterprise software implementations requiring a project manager, process mapping, customized training materials, a communications plan, a change management plan, and training delivery. Clients Kurt has worked with in laying the Apex foundation include Microsoft Licensing, ExxonMobil, Hewlett-Packard, Franklin Templeton Investments, ProBusiness, Green Thumb, Sony Electronics, McKesson Pharmaceuticals, The Cities of Reno and Sparks, The County of Sacramento, The City of Pasadena and the City of Boulder (Colorado).
Apex’s additional core competencies in Strategic Consulting, Software Quality Assurance and Contingent Staffing emerged as natural extensions of Apex’s original roots in Project Management and Training. With each successfully delivered project came the increased need to grow the team to handle additional demand.
The future for Apex is bright. Technology continues to advance and become more powerful, but increasingly complex for end users to implement, manage, and update. Apex’s strengths are its continued ability to adapt to market demands, its preparedness for future trends and technologies, and the continued growth of a team that is ready for whatever the future might bring.
From the beginning, Apex’s core philosophy has been what is in our client’s best interests by listening to their needs and challenges, and propose effective solutions that are impactful, measurable, and lasting. Though the times and technologies may change, these tenets are always relevant.
